  • Suzuki Method focuses on fundamentals of tone, listening, and collaboration between student, teacher, and parent.

Shinichi Suzuki developed the method by applying the same principles of language learning to music study: nurturing environment, continuous listening, delayed reading, common repertoire, review and refinement, and participation in group class.

Young children learn through play. Suzuki’s mother tongue method focuses on finding the most natural, easy approach to learning to the play the instrument with a beautiful tone and beautiful heart.

Mission Statement

My goal as a cello instructor is to create an environment where cello students build musicianship, technique, ensemble skills, and aural skills which support lifelong learning, deep listening, connection to the inner self through artistry, compassionate community, and personal resilience with a heart for service. This is accomplished in collaboration with parents and guardians, other families in the cello studio, and the music community at large. Persistent practice builds resilience and lifelong learners; deep listening builds patience, calm, and emotional regulation.
